Music and song has filled my heart as long as I can remember …
I can still envision myself as a toddler pounding the keys of an old brown upright in my Ontario, Canada home and singing my heart out to God. Soon I began writing songs and as a teenager God opened doors at a variety churches, retreats, conferences and a performance at the Canadian Gospel Music Association (CGMA) with the New Life Singers.
Bible College opened up some new opportunities in the United States as I joined choirs, ensembles, worship teams and helped lead worship over the next 15 years.
I was honored with Canadian Female Vocalist of the Year in 2000 and my song, “In God’s Arms,” was included on the CGMA Compilation CD. You can listen to it by clicking the link, or scrolling down on the music player. And, if you download it, the funds will go directly to help missions.
In 2000 and 2002 Robyn Bjork and myself recorded some of our original songs on two CD’s under the Christian Duo, SPIRIT FIRE. The purpose was to raise money for our oversea mission trips and God provided our needs through this venue. We supported the music ministry of a church in England and brought hope and healing to Sierra Leone, Africa after the diamond war. The music concerts involved local choirs, dance and drama teams and wound care efforts. The positive effect of those trips continues today through Robyn Bjork and her world-renowned work with Lymphedema, a cure for Podoconiosis, and the start of her International Lymphedema & Wound Care Training Institute www.ILWTI.com.
Currently I lead worship, write songs and perform regularly. Recently I recorded a duet with my daughter Ashley. You can listen to her beautiful voice in a clip of “Crazy About You” or download the song and the proceeds will go directly to missions.
Just like the servant who used his talents wisely, I am praying God will multiply my music to raise money for missions and spread the Joy, Hope and Healing of God’s Love and Grace to many!
